Request for Outreach/Workshops
Student Health Services conducts workshops and give presentations to classes, student organizations, living groups, and clubs. Our presentations and workshops address a variety of subjects including Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, and Sexually Transmitted Infections to name a few.
- Requests for outreach and workshops should be submitted to the Associate Director of Student Health Services @ healthservices.xula.edu or call (504)520-7396.
- Unless a staff member agrees to a personal request to present a program, people requesting programs should be encouraged to contact this office at least three (3) weeks prior to the date they wish the program delivered.
- We will accept requests received less than three weeks before the event, but cannot guarantee that we will be able to find anyone who can present.
- As a general rule, we do not provide outreach services to non - Xavier University of Louisiana groups, especially if the program is during normal working hours. Special requests should be discussed with the Associate Director of Student Health Services.
How Can Counseling Services Help You?
- Tabling Request - we love to table at events, just give us a few details about it.
- Classroom Presentation (20 min) - Help us educate students about the free services available to them. Professional individual, couples and group counseling, consultation if concerned about a friend, and workshops by request.
- Campus Emergency Response - We want to support you and your organization to respond effectively after a tragic event. Professional consultation and group facilitation are available to you, so that you can better support students, faculty and staff in times of loss.
- Workshop - A full workshop led by Counseling Services professional (for classes or student group).
