The Speech Pathology Curriculum provides students a thorough pre-professional foundation in theoretical and practical knowledge of human communication and disorders. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded the Bachelor of Science degree and are prepared for graduate study in speech-language pathology or audiology and for a limited number of career opportunities in speech-language pathology or audiology.
Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, MS, SLP education program in speech-language pathology at Xavier University of Louisiana is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700. Candidacy is a “preaccreditation” status with the CAA, awarded to developing or emerging programs for a maximum period of 5 years.
Erin King, a Speech Pathology Senior, participated in the 2021 Virtual Summer Research Opportunities Program(SROP) (June 14 -July 30, 2021) at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
She conducted and orally presented her research, Older Listeners Perception of Child Speech, under the guidance of Dr. Pamela Souza. Her Speech Pathology Department academic advisor/mentor is Dr. Elgustus Polite.
