Xavier University of Louisiana Receives $10,000 Commitment from High Level Speech and Hearing, LLC

Xavier University of Louisiana’s Department of Speech Pathology has received a $10,000 commitment from High Level Speech and Hearing, LLC to support graduate student scholarships and activities that promote the department.

The gift will provide up to $6,000 in scholarship support for two deserving students, as well as $4,000 to promote the Speech Pathology Department and celebrate student achievement. Each scholarship award will proudly bear the name of High Level Speech and Hearing, LLC’s founder and owner, Dr. Lana Joseph, honoring her professional excellence and longstanding connection to Xavier University.

Joseph’s connection to Xavier is deeply personal. Her pursuit of the Doctor of Audiology degree began at Xavier, where she enrolled as an undergraduate majoring in speech pathology and audiology. After Hurricane Katrina disrupted the University’s operations, she continued her studies at Nicholls State University. Despite this transition, she credits Xavier with laying the foundation for her academic and professional success. Her contribution reflects a dedication to giving back and strengthening opportunities for the next generation of clinicians.

“As a former Xavier student, I understand the transformative impact and social return that a commitment of this magnitude can have on a young person’s life and on our institution,” Joseph said.

Her support will help enhance graduate-level training, expand student opportunities, and further Xavier’s mission of preparing compassionate, skilled, and service-driven professionals.

“This generous $10,000 donation to the Speech-Language Pathology graduate program at Xavier University of Louisiana will have a direct and lasting impact on our students through scholarships, achievement initiatives, and efforts that strengthen and promote our department,” said Dr. Terrylynn Jenkins, Department Head and Graduate Program Director. “As the national demand for certified speech-language pathologists continues to rise, philanthropic support is essential to expanding access to graduate education and ensuring we can prepare highly qualified professionals to meet the growing communication needs of our communities.” Learn more about Xavier’s Speech Pathology Department here.
