Academic Advising

Academic Advising is housed in the Student Academic Success Office and provides academic advising and support to Deciding Majors, students on Academic Strict Probation, Transfer Students and Incoming Freshmen who require academic intervention. The Student Academic Success Office staff works closely with each student and develops Academic Success Plans with these students to help them better navigate their academic experience. Each Academic Plan is tailored to meet the student’s individual needs and educational goals to ensure they have the tools and resources to be successful at Xavier University.

The Student Academic Success Office conducts weekly Keys to Success Workshops that provide excellent insight into Time Management, Study Skills, Mental Health, Accountability and Responsibility and many other topics to ensure students are well equipped with necessary tools for their academic success.

The Student Academic Success Office staff monitors student academic performance on a regular basis requiring them to meet at least once a month to discuss challenges, alerts, concerns, use of available resources, and their academic plan.

The Student Academic Success Office staff works closely with faculty and other campus resources each semester to better support any student that may be having academic challenges or need additional support.
