Financial Assistance
Your child may be eligible to receive need-based financial assistance to attend our programs. Unlike merit-based aid, which is awarded for academic performance or extracurricular achievements, our financial assistance is strictly need-based. This means that support is determined by a family’s ability to pay, NOT by grades, test scores, or accomplishments. The goal is to ensure that cost does not prevent motivated students from participating and thriving in our programs.
We review every request for need-based financial assistance on a case-by-case basis. The amount of aid we can provide is limited, and eligibility for financial assistance does not guarantee award. We highly encourage all financial assistance applications to be submitted as early in the application cycle as possible and before priority deadlines.
How to Apply
For SOAR X, application for financial assistance is included as a part of the program application. When you answer yes to the question "Would you like to be considered for need-based financial assistance towards program fees," the questions we use to determine eligibility will appear. Requests for assistance should be submitted no later than March 2, 2026 for best chance of consideration.
For Star Programs and STEM Academy, Applicants interested in need-based financial assistance should email summerprograms@xula.edu with the subject "2026 Financial Assistance" after submitting their program application. Requests for assistance should be submitted no later than March 9, 2026 for best chance of consideration.
Considerations for award of financial assistance include:
- Number of household members
- Total annual household income
- Paragraph answer: Please share why financial assistance is requested, including ideal award amount.
- Documentation of income – Acceptable documents include one of the following:
- 2025 tax transcript
- 2025 tax return (1040)
- 2025 W-2
- 3 recent pay stubs
- Statement of social security/disability benefits.
No other documents will be accepted.
