Office of Technology Administration

Welcome to the Information Technology Center

Welcome to the Xavier University of Louisiana Technology webpage. If you are visiting for the first time, it is our hope that you will find easy access to the technical information that you are looking for. If you are a returning visitor, we are delighted that you are back and take this as an indication that you found the site beneficial. The University’s mission is firm in its commitment to developing students who can assume “roles of leadership and service in society”. The Office of Technology Administration (OTA) aids in the fulfillment of the University’s mission by ensuring that current technology resources are available to enhance students’ academic pursuits.

OTA is responsible for the technology needs of the University from e-mail, cable TV, telecommunications, to the wired and wireless data networks, including Internet access, and literally everything in between. The department is responsible for four Student Computer Laboratories, located in the Library, NCF Science Center, St. Joseph Hall and Xavier South; in addition mini-labs are maintained in St. Katharine Drexel, St. Mike's, St. Martin DePorres and Living & Learning Center residence halls.

The Information Technology Center (ITC) Helpdesk is available to assist you and can be reached by calling extensions 7446 or 7449, or see our online support which addresses most common issues. You may also contact the Helpdesk via email at helpdesk@xula.edu. One of the most common helpdesk requests is for a password or Banner PIN reset. If you are in need of a password or Banner PIN reset you must stop by the Helpdesk in the Norman C. Francis Science Building, Room 209 between the hours of 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Mondays through Fridays. Please be sure to bring some form of photo ID, preferably your XCard. For security reasons, passwords and Banner PINs cannot be reset via telephone or email requests.

We encourage you to contact us with your comments and suggestions. We want this portion of Xavier’s web environment to be your initial source for technical information. Our success depends upon you letting us know how we can improve and optimize your experience while you are on this site. Again, welcome and we hope you visit again soon.
