Learn.org Ranks Xavier Among Nation’s Top 50 STEM Universities

New Orleans LA – Xavier University of Louisiana has been ranked as one of the top 50 universities in the United States for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education by Learn.org, a website dedicated to saving students time and money while selecting a college.

The website’s special Top 50 STEM schools report ranks Xavier, the only college in Louisiana and the only Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to make the list, as #41 in the nation. According to the site, it based its selections on reviews of each school’s academic and career resources, the quality of education, faculty, and other considerations, such as data points from the U.S. Department of Education.
In recommending Xavier, Learn.org specifically cited the University’s exceptional faculty and opportunities for collaboration, research, and service learning.

The report stated that “the schools on the list have sizable research funding, opportunities for undergraduate research, and robust programs in some or all of the four STEM disciplines: science, technology, engineering, and math. Additionally these programs are affordable and accessible to a wide range of prospective students.”
