Wendy A. Gaudin is the author of "Sunset Limited: An Autobiography of Creole" (LSU Press, 2025). Her shorter interdisciplinary works have been published in Indiana Review, New Orleans Review Online, North American Review, Rappahannock Review, About Place Journal, New South Journal, and The Healing Muse. She has contributed chapters to "The Beiging of America: Personal Narratives about Being Mixed Race in the Twentieth Century" (2017) and "Of Color: Poets' Ways of Making. An Anthology of Essays on Transformative Poetics" (2019). Dr. Gaudin teaches courses in the core as well as in the disciplines of History and African American and Diaspora Studies. Her research interests are primarily in Creole history and culture, racial and cultural hybridity in French colonial contexts, and histories of migration from Louisiana to California. She is trained in oral history, and her interdisciplinary publications include historical narrative, autoethnography, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
