Dr. Lee is a nationally recognized pollster and strategist who has served as a political and social analyst for national television networks and cable stations. In addition to contributing to many publications and books, he served as an editor for State of Black America (2017–2023).
Dr. Lee is a court-certified expert who assists attorneys in defining social and cultural perspectives in criminal and multi-million-dollar civil cases, including personal injury, product defect, death penalty, smoking cessation, voting rights, and damage to reputation. Attorneys have won over $800 million in judgments based on his research.
He has served as a national pollster for several presidential campaigns, including Clinton-Gore (1992), Gore-Lieberman (2000), Kerry-Edwards (2004), Hillary Clinton (2007), the re-election of President Obama (Occupy the Vote, 2012), and President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris (2020, 2024). He has also worked with numerous national, state, and local elected officials and policy initiatives. As a result of his polling efforts, many institutions and governments have secured voter approval for bonds and revenue-generating initiatives totaling over a billion dollars.
Additionally, Dr. Lee is the Times Picayune/Samuel I. Newhouse Endowed Professor #12 of Sociology at Xavier University of Louisiana.
