Pete November serves as the chief executive officer of Ochsner Health, Louisiana’s largest not-for-profit academic health system and its largest private employer. November was named CEO in 2022 after serving in numerous senior leadership positions within the organization since 2012. November shepherded several significant partnerships, improving healthcare access for community members across the Gulf South region.
Prior to being named CEO, November served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Ochsner, leading accounting, financial planning and analysis, reimbursement, revenue cycle and financial operations for the system. In this role, November also oversaw the information services, real estate, supply chain and partnerships and integration teams.
A champion of the use of innovation and technology in healthcare, November previously served as Ochsner’s executive vice president of digital health and chief administrative officer, where he managed leading-edge initiatives including innovationOchsner (iO), digital medicine, telehealth, and information technology. Under November’s leadership, Ochsner became nationally recognized for its use of technology to improve health outcomes and help patients better manage chronic conditions from home.
In 2018, November spearheaded the development of Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. In partnership with LSU Health Shreveport, Ochsner created meaningful impact across Shreveport, Monroe and the surrounding communities by hiring more than 300 physicians, expanding behavioral health services and delivering community investments of more than $200 million. Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport’s transformative work continues in north Louisiana thanks to enhanced workforce and educational investments to train the next generation of healthcare professionals.
November joined Ochsner in 2012 as senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer. Prior to joining Ochsner, he served as executive vice president, general counsel and head of acquisitions for LHC Group Inc., one of the largest providers of home care in the nation. Prior to LHC Group, Inc., November was an equity partner with Alston & Bird, an international law firm, where he helped a wide range of healthcare organizations navigate growth and complex partnerships for more than 14 years.
November earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Kentucky, received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is actively involved in the community and currently serves as Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland College of Medicine and Adjunct Professor and Guest Lecturer at Loyola University College of Business. November serves on the Board of Trustees of the National World War II Museum, the Board of Directors of Son of a Saint, the Board of Directors of Vale Health, the New Orleans Business Council, the Committee of 100 and the University of Kentucky Visiting Committee. He has served on the Healthcare Transition Teams of Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry and former Governor John Bel Edwards. November proudly calls Louisiana home with his wife of over 30 years and two adult children.
