Biography Kwaw de Graft-Johnson, an accomplished professional in international education and peace and conflict resolution, currently serves as the International Education Specialist at Xavier University of Louisiana. In this role, he actively collaborates with key stakeholders to enhance international students and visiting faculty experiences.
With a dedicated focus on multicultural perspectives, Kwaw designs and implements global programs tailored to the unique needs of international students and various educational professionals. His responsibilities extend to researching and analyzing global educational trends, ensuring inclusivity, and fostering cultural sensitivity.
Before joining Xavier University of Louisiana, Kwaw held the position of Director of Research at Kommon Denominator. In this capacity, he oversaw research design, data collection, and analysis. His expertise includes training partners on methodologies, conducting mediation and dialogue processes, and liaising with government and academic institutions to build and exchange capacities. In addition, Kwaw de Graft-Johnson has a significant teaching background, contributing to various courses that reflect his expertise. Notably, he has taught courses such as "Advanced Skills in Conflict Resolution," (2022, 2016, and 2014), along with "Diversity and Difference in Conflict Resolution" (2015). He has also shared his knowledge in "Human Rights and Conflict Resolution" (2012 and 2013).
Throughout his career, Kwaw de Graft-Johnson has been recognized with several awards and responsibilities, including the Gilman Campus Advisor (2024), Fulbright Specialist Program (2023-2026), Shinnyo Fellowship (2012-2013), and the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution Alumni Award (2011). Noteworthy among his projects are collaborations with UNDP country teams in Iraq and Somalia, focusing on countering and preventing violent extremism (2018-2021).
