Dr. Amanda J. Chase is a Professor of Biomedical Sciences at the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine, where she is shaping the next generation of physicians committed to health equity and the reimagination of healthcare. She earned her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed postdoctoral research on viral immunology at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention before finding her true calling in medical education. Throughout her career, Dr. Chase has focused on the design of meaningful learning experiences to promote adaptive expertise and learner success in early medical education. She contributes to faculty development nationally and facilitates workshops on the scholarship of teaching and learning at leading conferences on health professions education. Dr. Chase is deeply involved in peer mentorship through the International Association of Medical Science Educators, where she serves on the Board of Directors.
