Office of International Education

Greetings!

“A complete education in the 21st century must teach our children about their interdependent world, and it must prepare them to be good leaders and good global citizens. International awareness and knowledge can help our children build the skills needed to communicate and cooperate with those from other nations and other cultures. And as they participate in international education and international exchange, our students can gain the knowledge and experiences to help them contribute to a sustainable future for all.”

----U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan (2009-2015)

Xavier University’s Center for Intercultural and International programs (CIIP)  is the designated office on campus to provide advising and support services to Xavier’s international community, specifically F-1 full-time students and J-1 visiting professors/scholars, and their family dependents. CIIP is your home away from home and it is our privilege to serve you.

Another major responsibility of the office is to facilitate education abroad and U.S. domestic exchange programs. Xavier has enjoyed collaborative programs with over 10 overseas and U.S. higher education institutions.

Our strong belief is that international education, including campus curricular internalization, enriches Xavier University, and New Orleans, making it an essential component to understanding our role within the current global landscape. We invite all students, faculty, staff, and the public to be a part of this ever-growing international culture and to relish the contributions that this population brings to our surroundings.

Our office is located at 312 St. Joseph Academic and Health Center.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we invite you to meet with us through Zoom. Simply call (504) 520-5491, or email yjiang@xula.edu and kwlee@xula.edu to schedule such a meeting. We look forward to seeing you soon!
