The 19th annual Festival of Scholars is April 7 & 8!

Organized by the Xavier University of Louisiana Center for Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (CURGO) and hosted collaboratively with Xavier’s Student Government Association (SGA), the Festival of Scholars is an opportunity for Xavier students and faculty to present their research and creative work to the entire campus community.

The 2022 Festival of Scholars will be held on April 7 and 8, in the University Center. The guest of honor is Xavier alumna Deirdre Roberson (‘08), Founder and CEO of EUMELANIN. EUMELANIN is a fashion brand celebrating the richness and diversity of melanin skin tones of black and brown people.

Xavier alumni guests and students will also present their work during the festival.

The Festival of Scholars is open for all Xavier University of Louisiana students to attend in support of their fellow Xavierites. The event seeks to highlight not only the STEM disciplines but also the fine arts. Xavier’s reputation as the number one producer of African American graduates who become physicians has received national wide recognition, along with its award-winning programs in the liberal arts. Back as an in-person event after being held virtually for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival remains a way to uplift the community and allow Xavierites to strengthen their bonds with their peers and professors.
