Xavier University of Louisiana hosts excellent opportunities for pre-collegiate and entering college students during the summer.  Below is a list of programs that will be operating during the summer of 2010.

Program: Biomedical Scholar Summer Program
(Please note that you may not apply to this program.  Participants are selected.)

Objective: To increase the number of underrepresented minorities who obtain careers in biomedical sciences by allowing high ability students to get a head start in college. The program would be especially beneficial to students who hope to enter medical school after their Junior year at Xavier via one of the Accelerated Premed Programs. Completing this course during the summer also makes it easier for students to take additional advanced courses or to reduce their course load during tough semesters (such as the time for MCAT preparation).

Number of Participants: 80             Eligibility: Incoming Xavier Freshmen
