Have YOU re-enlisted yet in Xavier's e2Campus text message alert system for the new academic year? If not, why not?
On Monday (Sept. 22) the 2008-09 re-enlistment campaign began after the database was purged of all existing cell phone and mobile device numbers, including those who signed up since August. This necessary annual move ensures only current members of the XU community are eligible to receive messages by re-enlisting at the start of each academic year.
The system was used twice in the past month for messages about weather related campus closures; but only those enrolled in the system got those messages! Sign-up is a simple, quick online process that takes only a few steps to complete and starts right here: http://www.e2campus.com/my/xavier/signup.htm.
BACKGROUND:
The “E2Campus” emergency notification system enables the university to send important text messages instantly and simultaneously to any and all registered mobile devices, such as the alerts issued for recent hurricane-related campus closures.
This system – which is designed primarily for sending emergency messages – supplements the XULA web mail system and the weekly E-Bulletin, which remain the primary means of communicating normal information to the Xavier campus community.
XU students & others may also elect as an option to receive other messages and/or reminders from SGA, Student Services, etc. As a subscriber, YOU decide on any additional (non-emergency) text messages you want to receive.
