Will YOU be connected to Xavier for 2013?
Xavier University of Louisiana has selected the BB Connect communication service from Blackboard Connect Inc. to deliver all emergency messages and other time-sensitive notifications to students, faculty and staff employees. The university has replaced its previous E2campus text messaging system with the newer, multi-modal BB Connect service to provide expanded capability to send information and updates to you during unforeseen events or emergencies. The service enables the University to schedule, send, and track messages via four different forms of communication:
• Personalized voice messages to landline phones, cell phones, and e-mail addresses
• Text messages to cell phones, PDAs, networked digital signage, and other text-based devices
• Text messages to e-mail accounts
• Messages to TTY/TDD receiving devices for the hearing impaired
In order for this new system to succeed, we will need for you to provide your personal cell phone number (and ultimately, any personal e-mail addresses that you want us to use) for emergency notifications, in addition to your XULA web mail information.
HOW?
All it takes is a brief visit online to your XULA Banner Web account online where you take our brief single-question "phone survey" to provide the cell number needed in order to reach you several ways in the event of an emergency affecting XU students and employees.
