The Xavier University Speech and Hearing Clinic offers advanced Speech Pathology majors the opportunity to engage in clinical practicum, with real patients.  Students work under the supervision of ASHA Certified and Louisiana Licensed Speech Language Pathologists to offer evaluation and treatment of articulation, language and fluency problems to children and adults from the Greater New Orleans Area and voice, fluency, and accent and dialect reduction for Xavier students.  Since its inception, the Xavier University Speech and Hearing Clinic has provided services to hundreds of members of the New Orleans community and has served as the training ground for scores of Xavier Speech Pathology majors preparing to work in schools and hospitals.  The Xavier University Speech and Hearing Clinic advances Xavier's mission to contribute to the promotion of a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service.  Speech Pathology majors receive invaluable experience applying their knowledge and skills in a professional setting, while members of the community enjoy access to this vital service.

Any Xavier student may seek the services of the clinic for free. A small fee is charged for children and adults from the greater New Orleans area.  Spaces are limited and are filled on a semester-by-semester basis.
