Premedical Office

Transfer Students

Apply to Xavier

Students who transfer to Xavier and are interested in applying to medical, dental, and other types of health professions schools are encouraged to sign-up for advising in the Premedical Office during their first Xavier registration and to be actively engaged with Premedical Office advising activities throughout enrollment.  After signing-in, you will be able to obtain guidance with the process of preparing your application to health professions school AND receive important emails about premed meetings, recruitment visits, summer programs, etc.  All transfer premeds are encouraged to complete the Biomedical Honor Corps Freshman Premed Meetings, regardless of classification based on credit hours.  These meetings are designed to introduce new premeds (freshman and transfer) to premedical advising at Xavier and the process of preparing competitive applications to medical, dental, and other types of health professions schools.

The Premedical Office, located in NCF Science Building room 108, complements the support provided by academic advisors within a student's major department. The office is generally open from 9am-5pm during the academic year. Be advised that the Premedical Program is not an academic major, and the Premedical Office is not an academic department.  As such, the Premedical Office is not responsible for determining which courses will transfer into the University or registering students for classes.  If you have questions about transfer credit, please contact the Office of Admissions and/or the respective academic departments.

Students who wish to enroll as non-degree seeking students at Xavier, for the purpose of completing required and/or recommended courses for specific health professions schools, are welcome to sign-in with the Premedical Office for pre-professional guidance.  Non-degree seeking students who are interested in preparing applications to medical, dental, and other types of health professions schools are encouraged to review the following documents:  Info for Students Who Already Have a College Degree and Post-Baccalaureate Programs.
