Everyone deserves the gift of music and everyone can benefit from it. Do you want to sing or play the piano or another instrument? We will teach you how! Learners from 6 years of age through adulthood can be taught to make music and to enjoy the making of it.
In the Junior School program, upper-class music majors, becoming proficient themselves in the specific instrument desired, instruct beginners under the supervision of their music professors. More advanced students are taught by more experienced music professionals. This keeps the tuition affordable and benefits both learners and teachers.
Private lessons are arranged for each student according to the schedules of all involved. A Christmas Show & Tell program will close the semester.
Because of delays caused by Hurricane Isaac, registration for the Junior School will take place September 20th and 22nd - Thursday and Friday, in the Xavier Music Building between 3 and 5 pm. Registration will also be held Saturday, September 23rd, from 9am to 1 pm in the Music Building. The tuition is $250 for the semester and is payable at registration time. Lessons begin the week of September 17th. The semester will close December 15th.
