+ Teachers of 4th –8th grade mathematics who have a deep commitment to closing the achievement gap for students in New Orleans.

+ Teachers who have been recruited to teach math and want to be effective mathematics teachers, whether or not they majored in mathematics in college.

+ Teachers who want to learn better strategies for teach ing math to all their students, helping students with weak math foundations catch up and challenging students who are already strong in mathematics.

+ Teachers who feel a sense of urgency to have their students achieve at higher levels.

+ Teachers who will make a commitment to remaining as a teacher in a N.O. public school (charter, RSD, or OPSB) school for two years.
