Library Documentary Film Festival
The XU Library's spring Documentary Film Festival continues today, Friday, April 20, at 3:00 p.m. in Library Room 400F with a presentation of "All the Difference: Young African-American Men and Their College Experience". Earth Day
Join students, student organizations, staff, faculty, and up to 15 community sustainability and green partners as we collectively learn how to reduce our carbon footprint on Earth Day today, Friday, April 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the University Center. Activities will include a student moderated panel of experts providing information about sustainability careers, a reduce/reuse/recycle pledge campaign, competitive green games, and tree plantings. XULA Jazz Festival
The Department of Music will host its 10th annual campus Jazz Festival, a three-day event offering clinics/workshops and an evening concert series focusing on multiple genres of the jazz art form, Tuesday-Thursday, April 24-26. Study Abroad Pre-departure Orientation
All students preparing to study abroad this summer or fall should attend one of the two Study Abroad Pre-departure Orientation sessions scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, either 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. in University Center 205 or 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. in St. Joseph 313. Credit Union Meeting
The annual meeting of the XULA Credit Union will be held Thursday, April 26, at noon in the University Center Ball Room.  The meeting is open to all current members as well as University personnel who are interested in becoming members.


Financial Literacy Day
Learn about the importance of developing healthy money habits - budgeting, saving, borrowing, and more - during the Office of Financial Aid's spring Financial Literacy Day, "Jazzing with my Money," Friday, April 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the first floor lobby of the University Center. Visit HERE  for more info.

Community Outreach Center Town Hall Meeting
The Xavier University Community Outreach Center (XUCOC) will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting  Monday, April 30. at 5:30 p.m. at 7934 Edinburgh St., just a few blocks from the main campus. This is a culminating event to the Clinical Needs Assessment in Gert Town that was conducted by the XULA graduate counseling students along with alumna Meghan Berger and Dr. Cirecie Olatunji (COUN). Visit HERE  for more info. 2018 Yearbook Pickup
The 2018 Yearbooks are available for pickup today, Friday, April 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the UC Lobby. Your student ID is required. Other pickup days are April 23, 27, & 30.


Sound the Alarm/Save a Life
The American Red Cross invites the Xavier community to participate in its efforts to make homes safer by installing 100,000 smoke alarms nationwide. The local Sound the Alarm/Save a Life campaign begins  Saturday, April 28, in Marrero. Other areas to be covered include: Algiers (May 03 & 08), Harvey (May 05), and the Irish Channel (May 12). Senior Art Show
The original works of senior art majors are currently on display at their year-end show, "The Design of Our Lives," through May 13 in the Administration Building Art Gallery. The exhibit is open during normal business hours Monday-Friday. Admission is free and the public invited.



Tulane Medical School Recruitment
David Nguyen, XU Class of 2014 and soon to be Tulane University School of Medicine graduate, will be on campus Tuesday, April 24, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the NCF Science Annex (1st floor) to speak with interested students about the medical school and his own personal journey from XU to Tulane to his upcoming residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at St. Louis U Medical School. Career Spotlight: Pediatrics w/Dr. Samira Brown
Dr. Samira Brown, XU Class of 2000 and a Harvard Medical School graduate, will conduct a career information session Tuesday, April 24, at 5:00 p.m. in NCF 115. RSVP HERE. She will also discuss shadowing opportunities at Ochsner and outreach initiatives such as the Bone Marrow Registry.

A representative from​ Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical School & Health Sciences Programs will be in the NCF Science Annex (1st floor) Wednesday, April 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Stop by to learn more about degree programs at DMU and summer opportunities for undergraduates.

Freshman Premed Assessment Meetings
Students who plan on applying to medical, dental, etc. school in 2020 for entry in 2021 should sign-up for and complete the One-on-One Freshman Assessment Meeting in the Premedical Office. The sign-up list and required meeting documents will be available in the Premedical Office (NCF 108) near the reception desk; detailed instructions were sent previously via email. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss academic progress, summer plans, and the status of professional school application components. What is the eBulletin? How do I get my news included?
The weekly eBulletin has been designated by the University Administration as THE official vehicle for communicating non-urgent announcements and info to XU faculty, staff, and students. It is emailed each Friday morning (excepting Holidays), covering the events for the upcoming week and beyond. If you have an announcement or info about a campus event that you wish to submit for inclusion, please send it to or If your submission includes a flyer, it should be in pdf or jpg format. The deadline for all submissions is 5:00 p.m. the Wednesday before publication; however, you are encouraged to send in your announcements as early as possible.

Please note that requests for blast emails about individual events cannot be honored.
