Ash Wednesday/Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel Masses
The XU community is invited to participate in Mass in the St. Katharine Drexel Chapel at noon on ASH WEDNESDAY (March 01) and at noon FRIDAY (March 03) for the Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel. Mass on SUNDAY (March 05) will be at 12:30 p.m.
The Graduate and Professional Schools Gaps Week will be March 06-10. Details to come. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
2017 Graduate Exit Counseling
Just a reminder that students planning to graduate this May must complete exit counseling with the Office of Student Financial Aid by April 01. Visit HERE for details.
New Orleans Black Chorale Concert
The New Orleans Black Chorale will present its annual Black History Month concert, “Sharing our Ancestry, Lives, and Legacies Through Our Songs”, SUNDAY (March 05) at 5:00 p.m. in the XU Administration Building Auditorium. Admission is free and the public invited.
The Sacred & the Sinful
The Sacred and the Sinful: Hymns and Blues in New Orleans Jazz, The next event in Xavier’s continuing Culture of New Orleans series, will be held March 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom. The program includes a discussion and concert featuring Dr. Michael White and the Original Liberty Jazz Band, singer Cynthia Girtley, and trumpeter Gregg Stafford. Wellness Awareness Day
Wellness Awareness Day will be held March 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the University Center featuring free screenings, educational information, and various wellness and physical activities.
XU Library Documentary Film Festival
The XU Library’s documentary film festival continues March 15-16 with a presentation of “Half the Sky” at 3:00 and 5:30 p.m., respectively. in the Library Resource Building, Room 400F. Literary Readings Series
The XULA Literary Readings series for spring 2017 continues March 16 featuring Lola Haskins at 6:00 p.m. in UC 205. Free and open to the public. Visit HERE for details.
2nd Annual Meal Packaging Party
The Center for Student Leadership and Service will hold its 2nd Annual Meal Packaging Party March 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in University Center (2nd floor). Volunteers are needed to package more than 20,000 meals for families across 38 countries. Visit HERE for details.
10th Annual Health Disparities Conference
The College of Pharmacy will host its 10th annual Health Disparities Conference March 16-18. This year’s theme: “Advances in Evidence-Based Practices to Eliminate Disparities and Achieve Health Equity in Building Healthier Communities: Lessons Learned.” Visit HERE for more info.
LA Conference on Computational Biology & Bioinformatics
Interested students and faculty are encouraged to register for the 5th Annual LA Conference on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, which will be held April 7-8 in the XU Convocation Center Annex. Visit HERE for more info or HERE to register. Deadline for registration is March 17.
Faculty-Staff Morning of Prayer
The spring Faculty-Staff Morning of Prayer will occur March 16 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Katharine Drexel Chapel. Emily Jones and Dr. Timothy Turner will speak on the theme "Savior, I Need You Now; Do No Pass Me By." Take the hour off and join us in spending a little time with the Lord and be energized by Him. Persons of all faith traditions are invited.
Shifting Culture Campus Climate Survey Workshop
The Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault will hold a campus workshop, "Shifting Culture Campus Climate Survey," March 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in University Center (Room 205C). Free and open to the public. Visit HERE to register.
Campus Ministry Survey
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops wants to hear from you, as a student, about what attracts you to Campus Ministry, what interests you, and what concerns you. It will only take about 10 minutes of your time if you wish to participate in this nationwide survey. Hack to Health
A Hack to Health Marathon will be held March 25-26. The event, designed to discuss and explore health issues and come up with real solutions, will focus on access to healthcare, chronic diseases, and behavioral health. Visit HERE for more info.
