Featured Speaker: DONNA BRAZILE

National political strategist Donna Brazile chairs the Democratic National Committee’s Voting Rights Institute (VRI) established to promote greater participation in the political process. A native of Louisiana, she is the author of the memoir “Cooking with Grease: Stirring the Pots in American Politics” about her career. Brazile made history as the first African American women to lead a major presidential campaign in 2000, but she also worked on numerous previous presidential campaigns. Brazile is the founder and managing director of a political consulting and grassroots advocacy firm based in Washington DC. [ more ]

Special Guest: FOREST WHITAKER

Forest Whitaker is one of Hollywood’s most accomplished actors/directors/producers, showcasing his talents in demanding and diverse roles. He won an Academy Award for his performance as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in the 2006 film “The Last King of Scotland”, becoming only the fourth African American male to win an Academy Award for Best Actor. His portrayal of saxophonist Charlie Parker in “Bird” earned him a Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival, and he has also won Golden Globe and BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards.
