Meharry Medical College President Wayne J. Riley, M.D., presents XU's Dr. JW Carmichael, Jr. with an honorary Doctor of Science degree for his outstanding contributions to the healthcare profession and his instrumental role in establishing programs that has drawn national recognition to Xavier - the nation's No.1 institution for placing African Americans into medical school.
