ENDOWMENT
Xavier's endowment and its efforts to recruit and keep quality faculty got a boost when the Louisiana Board of Regents’ Louisiana Education Quality Support Fund awarded the University $680,000 in matching funds for a new endowed chair and seven professorships. On hand with President Norman Francis for the event was Gregory Rattler, Sr., a senior vice-president with J.P Morgan Chase Bank, whose company's gift helped establish the Business Solutions to Urban Problems professorship.
FOUNDATION GIFT
Representatives from the Linden Root Dickinson Foundation – (from left) Susan Henkel, John Henkel, Kevin Sanders and Catherine Sanders – take a tour of campus which resulted in the San Diego, California-based Foundation making a $200,000 contribution to the University.
COP PARTNERS WITH WALMART
Wayne Harris, dean of the College of Pharmacy, announces a partnership between XU and Walmart to reopen the University's disease management clinic that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The company will provide space for the clinic at its Harahan ( La.) store until the original site can be repaired, hopefully later this year.
