XU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Loren Blanchard (center) accepts an award on behalf of the University from New Orleans Black Chorale officers Kathy Fortner-Celestine and B. Paul Bailey. Xavier was recognized for its success in recovering from Hurricane Katrina and in providing students from New Orleans and across the country with an outstanding education during the group’s Black History Concert.
