VISTA CHALLENGE
Osama Hamdan '96 and Ian Heisser '95 - two Xavier alums now working for Microsoft - visit the campus to promote the Microsoft Windows Media Player Skins Challenge, a nationwide competition open to college students in engineering, graphic design, or technology utilizing Media Player user interfaces to combine music, graphic arts and technology.

RECRUiTING IN FULL SWING
Xavier Prep seniors Jasmine Warner and Ashley Wilson get a visit from XU admissions counselor Holly Haydel. Admissions personnel are combing the city, region and nation for students willing to come to New Orleans and be a part of the rebuilding process. It appears to be working, as applications for the fall semester are at pre-Katrina levels.

were selected by syndicated radio host Tom Joyner as part of his
nationwide "HBCU Admissions Tour" promotion.

OPERATION BLESSING
XU Pharmacy major Jeanine Cambrice advises Latrelle Bold about the prescription he received during Operation Blessing's week-long health clinic. Health professionals from all over the U.S. volunteered to provide free medical and dental care for residents of New Orleans. Several Xavier students and faculty helped man the clinic’s pharmacy.

PROGESS REPORT
H.E. Nassar Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Qatar Ambassador to the U.S., gets a tour of the campus from President Norman Francis during his visit to New Orleans. Qatar has donated $12.5 million dollars to XU to expand the College of Pharmacy and for student scholarships.
