SCOTT HONORED
Anna Scott accepts an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on behalf of her husband - longtime art professor John T. Scott (’62) - who is recuperating from double lung surgery in Texas, where the family relocated after Hurricane Katrina. Scott's art has garnered him a national reputation as one of America’s most highly-acclaimed contemporary artists and his teaching continues to inspire Xavier art students.

ALL THAT JAZZ
Jazz Round Up 2007 was a grand affair as the New Orleans Alumni Club #1 danced and reunited with fellow Xavierites in the University Center's McCaffrey Ballroo. This years honorees were Mrs. Elvira Day Henry ‘58, Dr. Octavia Miller Kennedy ‘51, Mrs. Lavinia Lundy Strong ‘39 and the late Mr. George St. Julien. Alumni and friends danced the evening away to the soulful sounds of Dwight and Connie Fitch and Joe “Cool” Davis.

FITNESS FIRST!
Counseling, Health Services, UNCFSP Learn and Serve, Student Leadership Service, Recreational Sports and Human Resources combined to sponsor the Annual Employee Health and Fitness Day. Participants enjoyed a dress down day, a walk-around-campus, aerobics, free health screenings and a free two-hour lunch break.
KATRINA WALK
Jillandra Carter Rovaris '82, (right) who organized the "Katrina Walk" that raised $69,000 for Xavier and eight other New Orleans colleges and universities, presents an honorary award to Amy Collins and Diana Michel of the student-operated Tulane Emergency Medical Service for the group's assistance with the fund-raising event.
