Dr. Norman Francis is all smiles as he accepts the United Negro College Fund President’s Cup Challenge Trophy from UNCF representative Leatrice Gaines ‘86, in recognition of University’s stellar fundraising efforts for the annual UNCF walkathon. More than 650 XU students, faculty and staff members participated in the event – raising $39,573. Also on hand for the presentation were Dr. Kenneth St. Charles, who coordinated the University’s UNCF effort, and Kimberly Reese, who led the Student Services effort.

AJC DIALOGUE CONTINUES
President Norman Francis discusses the University’s recovery following Hurricane Katrina, and the lingering recovery challenges facing Louisiana, with members of the American Jewish Committee’s “ACCESS: New Orleans Relief” project during their return trip to the New Orleans area Dec. 28-30. The AJC delegates were joined by members of the Office of Black Ministry, Archdiocese of New York, who have teamed with them to raise money for the support of Xavier’s recovery.
