XU-DU RIVALRY
Junior forward Denzell Erves of Vicksburg MS is fouled by a Dillard player as he goes up for a basket in the Gold Rush’s 64-37 conference win over their cross town rivals in the last game of the series to be played at the Barn. The Nuggets made it a sweep, beating the Dillard women 74-60. Next season Xavier will play in its new CAC arena.

Harry Johnson '77, president of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, (left) accepts a plaque from Randall McHenry '86, president of the Houston XU Alumni Chapter, during the chapter's annual Mardi Gras in December. Johnson, a partner in the Texas city’s Law Office of Glenn and Johnson, was recognized for his leadership role in the creation of and the funding for the National MLK Memorial in Washington DC.

HELPING HAND
Consultant Julia Wilson, CEO/Founder of Wilson Global Communications, is awarded a plaque from XU Senior VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Loren Blanchard and President Norman Francis during the Faculty Institute in appreciation for her leadership and service in the establishment of Xavier’s Confucius Institute. Dr. Monique Guillory, XU Special Assistant to the Administration, received similar recognition.
