Xavier University Library Reference Desk and Department are located on the first floor of the Library Resource Center. The reference staff is available to facilitate access to information and informational resources. Faculty, Staff and Graduate students may obtain LALINC/CALL cards at the reference desk. Members of the Xavier community may also obtain copy cards at the reference desk.
This electronic reference service allows members of the Xavier University community to ask questions of Xavier’s reference librarians, without having to come to the university library. This service is designed to provide brief answers to factual questions. For more extensive or detailed inquiries, it is best to consult a reference librarian face-to-face.
Questions submitted between Monday through Thursday will normally receive a response within 24-72 hours. Those submitted Friday through Sunday or those submitted during especially heavy times of the year, such as just prior to Finals Week, may take a little longer.

The library provides carrels for faculty members working on research projects. Carrels are located on the first, second, and third floor of the library. The carrels are a great convenience for those engaged in library research. Carrels are assigned on a per year or per semester basis. All library material taken into the rooms must be properly checked out. Additional information and application can be obtained at the reference desk.
