New for fall semester 2013 is digital reference. Chat, SMS, and email reference allow members of the Xavier University community to
questions and get quick answers. See the Services page (linked) to contact the library. Digital reference questions are answered on a first-come,
first-served basis. Questions needing lengthy or very detailed answers may best be answered by phone or at the reference desk.
One-on-one consultations are available to students and faculty. Contact a reference librarian or your department liaison to schedule a consultation
focused on individual research needs.

As part of the library’s commitment to create lifelong learning among our graduates, library instruction is available to faculty to promote and
enhance research skills among students. As the library resource center builds a formal program of instruction, faculty feedback is sought and
valued in the creation of appropriate learning outcomes and assessments. Librarians will collaborate with faculty in designing timely and
effective instruction sessions geared toward building the skills necessary to produce quality research. Please contact Johannah White Instruction
Coordinator, for more information.
