The Rare Books Collection

There are some 8,200 titles in Xavier’s collection of Rare Books. To meet the criteria for inclusion in RB a book must be signed by the author, show less than thirty holdings in the Online Computer Library Catalog (OCLC), or the subject matter must pertain to our collection parameters of African American, Catholic, or Louisiana and the Gulf South.

Any book held in RB will be identified as such through a search in XacWeb. Patrons can search through “Title,” “Author,” “Call Number,” or “Keyword” searches.
