(Leadership Education And Development Skills)
The mission of XU Leadership programs is to prepare students for leadership roles and responsibilities through use of multiple techniques. Distinctive programs for emergent leaders, students preparing to take on leadership positions, and advanced leaders, students who already work in some leadership capacity engage students in an interactive and comprehensive curriculum designed to teach effective and ethical leadership skills. Programming includes training workshops, community service, and article reviews.
All students interested in becoming a Peer Dean, Resident Hall Assistant, M.A.X. Project Coordinator and S.G.A./Class Officer must obtain XU leadership certification. Leadership certification can be obtained upon completion of six (6) training workshops and submission of assignments. Completion of the XU LEADS emergent or advanced leadership program does not guarantee any of the aforementioned student leadership positions and other requirements may be set by the individual organization.
The emergent leaders program will begin on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 and continues on consecutive Wednesdays for six weeks.
The advanced leaders program will begin on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 and continues on consecutive Tuesdays for six weeks.
Both programs are held from 5:00PM until 6:15PM. Attendance is Mandatory.
