Mobilization At Xavier (MAX) is the on-campus student community service
organization at Xavier University, advised by the Volunteer Center. The
purpose of MAX is to coordinate and cooperate in the planning and promoting
of community service activities on campus. MAX offers a variety of campus
service programs that help students MAXimize their time spent helping to
rebuild our communities. Campus service programs allow student volunteers
to become active in the community and promote social awareness and social
responsibility through community service. Student Coordinators provide constant
support to the volunteers working in each program.
Mentoring & Friendship
Girl Scouts at Xavier
Work with young females in a broad range of social, cultural, and academic enrichment activities. Time Varies
Outreach Day
Participate in educational, cultural, and social enrichment activities with 5-10 yr olds who visit campus monthly. 1 Saturday per month, 10am-1pm
Men on the Move
Be a positive role model for Jr. High males through rap sessions and other activities. - Time Varies
Literacy & Education
Homework Clinic
Provide K-8th grade students with homework assistance after-school. Mon-Wed, 3:30pm-5:30pm
OURstory
Engage in preventive literacy work through story sharing and other activities with children in day care and elementary schools. Day/Time TBA
Teaching Young Children
Be a role model of academic excellence by tutoring elementary and middle school students. Mon-Thurs, 3:30p-4:30p Transportation provided

Utilize your medical skills & knowledge to serve communities through trainings and outreach, Time Varies
Adopt-A-Grandperson
Attempt to eliminate isolation and loneliness for senior s by facilitating activities with elderly neighborhood residents. 2 Saturdays per month, 2p—4p
Hunger Coalition
Work with various agencies serving those who are Hungry and Homeless. Time Varies
Pair Care
Be a friendly visitor to children with special needs who are in group homes, hospitalized, or disabled.
Saturdays, 9a-1p
GWhizz: Assist with the disposal of recyclables and participate in other "go green" activities. (weekends and weekends).
