Opening Ceremonies - October 6-11
, 2012

The new St. Katharine Drexel Chapel will be officially dedicated with
a series of activities the week of Oct. 6-11. Scheduled activities include the
dedication and consecration Mass with New Orleans Archbishop Gregory
Aymond serving as the principal celebrant. Also expected to attend are many of
the U.S. African American bishops, sisters from the SBS Motherhouse,
and famed architect Cesar Pelli.

Special individual Masses will be celebrated for alumni, faculty, staff,
and students.Other scheduled opening week activities include concerts by the Campus
Ministry Gospel Choir, the XU Department of Music, and gospel choirs from across
the New Orleans area. There will also be a presentation on the life of St. Katharine Drexel,
a city-wide ecumenical service for local religious clergy, on-campus receptions and personal tours..

Due to the limited seating capacity of the chapel (450 seats),
some events are by invitation only.
