Business Division

Conrad N. Hilton Chair in Entrepreneurship

Biology Department

The Biology Department of Xavier University of Louisiana seeks applicants for two tenure-track positions starting in Fall 2009.  Candidates must have a Ph.D., a track record of publications and a strong commitment to undergraduate research. Post-doctoral training is strongly desired.  Teaching:   Position one: General Biology.  Position two: General Biology and clinically-oriented electives like Immunology and Medical Micro.  Research:  Position one:  Any area of biology and/or pedagogy.  Position two:  Cancer research (best) or application-based project related to cancer.  Send curriculum vitae and names of three references to Dr. M. Communications Department

Communications Department – Speech Communications
The Department of Communications at Xavier University of Louisiana, a historically Black, Catholic institution located in the heart of New Orleans, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor beginning August 2009. Current responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load (three sections of the University’s core curriculum requirement and one section of an upper level course), scholarship, service, student advising, mentoring undergraduate research, and curriculum development.

Applicants should possess evidence of teaching excellence and an active scholarly agenda. A Ph.D. in Communication Studies is required for rank of assistant professor. ABD candidates who are actively pursuing degree completion will be considered.

We are particularly interested in scholars who will contribute to existing programs in undergraduate research, service-learning, and social justice. We seek dynamic candidates interested in shaping the future of the department by participating in curriculum revision and development. The Department of Communications actively supports Xavier’s mission of promoting a more just and humane society through service-learning projects and community-based research collaborations. New faculty without prior full-time teaching experience teach a 3/4 load during the first semester of appointment, and all faculty are eligible to apply for release time for scholarly projects administered through the department. Faculty are encouraged to seek funding for teaching and research projects through the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and the Center for Undergraduate Research. Physics Department

Xavier University of Louisiana, a Catholic, Historically Black University, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the Department of Physics. The preferred starting date for the position is January 2009, however applicants who are only available to start in August 2009 will also be considered. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and undergraduate research.

Teaching loads average 12 credits per semester of undergraduate courses. Pharmacy - Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice
Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy is seeking qualified pharmacists to help with the facilitation of clinical education and case discussion courses. The successful candidate will be tasked to maintain a medication therapy management service in partnership with one or more of the clinical faculty. Minimum qualification: PharmD with at least two years experience. Interested Candidates should contact Dr. Janel Bailey Wheeler, Chair of the Recruitment Committee, at jbailey1@xula.edu. Pharmacy - Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy is seeking qualified pharmacists to precept clinical education students and participate in didactic courses. The successful candidate will be tasked to maintain a medication therapy management service in a clinical site consistent with the applicant's practice interests. Ambulatory and Acute Care sites available. Minimum qualification: PharmD with completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency or three years clinical practice experience. Special consideration will be given to applicants with PGY2+ training, those with additional years of clinical experience and those with specialty certifications. Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy is seeking qualified pharmacists to help with the facilitation of clinical education and the delivery of drug information services. The successful candidate will be tasked to the Xavier University Drug Information Center in partnership with the Center's Director. Minimum qualification: PharmD with at least two years experience. Experience in one or more aspects of drug information is preferred but not required.
