Tyree speaks to college students
On Feb. 17, Tulane University’s Amistad Research
Center presented writer/entrepreneur Omar Tyree as the first speaker
in their Black Arts Festival 2005.
Tyree opened up by providing a brief descrption of himself. He said
that he is a jock who ended up being a writer who has a lot to say
and with that in relations to his profession, he considers himself

value of black history
In celebration of Black History month we typically
have programs, festivals, and a reenactment of the march on Washington.
But my question is do we still care? Sure we get participants to
these events and sporadic conversation about the shortest month,
but I don't think students are that concerned with it. More...
