Webusers and FTP!

Every active member of the Xavier community is entitled to a Webusers account and an E-mail account. Xavier University and ITC have established a system that allows you to automatically be provided with server space to publish personal and professional information when you are assigned an e-mail address.

If your e-mail address were username@xula.edu, your Webuser URL, the information needed for a browser to find your page on the World Wide Web, would be http://webusers.xula.edu/username. This URL is intended to be the same for the entire length of your active association with Xavier University.

Please note that all pages on Webusers are required to contain a disclaimer that the work is your own and does not necessarily reflect the views of Xavier University. The standard method for providing this information is via a link to http://www.xula.edu/disclaimer.html. Failure to comply with the Network Use Policy does not indicate approval by Xavier University.

In order to post HTML pages and graphics to your site, you are going to need to use FTP. ITC has put together a Support page providing links and instructions on the use of FTP for Windows and use of FTP for Mac.

If you have further problems, contact ITC Help Desk. If you wish to create a page for the Official Xavier site, you should first review the Content Management Policy. You may be asked to post pages for review on Webusers before submitting pages to the Webmaster.
