Faye Grimsley, PhD. MSPH
Dr. Faye Grimsley received her Ph.D. degree in Environmental and Industrial Hygiene with Professor Carol Rice, University of Cincinnati (2001). Her primary field is occupational and environmental hygiene with research emphasis on mold, bioaerosols, indoor air quality, and exposure assessment. She recently completed several mold and allergen exposure assessment investigations in flood damaged homes in the New Orleans area Post-Katrina. She was lead investigator for the environmental mold and allergen exposure assessment for the NIEHS Head off Environmental Asthma in Louisiana (HEAL) study from 2006-2009. Her efforts on mold exposure assessment research investigations led to the first publication documenting the presence of mycotoxins in Katrina flood damaged homes. She has served for NIH study sections and work groups in the areas of biomarkers of mold exposures and mold exposure assessment. Currently, Dr. Grimsley is serving on the NIEHS Scientific Advisory Board and Exposure Assessment Work Group for the GuLF Oil Spill Worker Study.
