Benjamin Francisco, PhD, PNP, AE-C

Dr. Francisco is a Research Assistant Professor of Pulmonary Medicine and Allergy in the Department of Child Health, the School of Medicine, University of Missouri, Columbia. He is director of Asthma Ready® Communities and principal investigator for several asthma improvement initiatives. He is a practicing pediatric nurse practitioner at MU Women’s & Children’s Hospital, University Physicians, Pediatric Specialty Clinics, Columbia. Dr. Francisco is principal author of IMPACT Asthma Kids©, an evidence-based multimedia educational program for school age children. His research activities include 1) analysis of administrative claims data to target and evaluate asthma interventions, 2) work force development to improve asthma care in schools, clinics, hospitals and community agencies, 3) assessment of airflow obstruction in childhood asthma and 4) improvement of children's inhalation technique. franciscob@health.missouri.edu
