Goals

Graduate SchoolThe goal of Graduate Programs is to educate men and women to advance the quality of human life through scholarship, teaching and service. 

Graduate programs focus on the disciplines of education, counseling, and theology. Scholarship, teaching and service are integral to students' educational experience which extends beyond the classroom into the community.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants are admitted to the Graduate Programs on a full-time or part-time basis. Candidates for admission must submit the following a formal application accompanied by an application fee, two confidential recommendations, official test results from either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) and transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended. Transcripts from all post-baccalaureate institutions attended is also required. 

Other requirements include: a degree from a regionally-accredited college or university, which reflects an overall minimum undergraduate grade-point average of 2.5, a minimum score of 800 on the GRE (the combined score from verbal and quantitative sections) or 30 on the MAT. Test scores older than five years are not acceptable.

All requirements for admission must be fulfilled and in the Graduate Programs office by the respective assigned deadline dates before a decision regarding acceptance can be delivered.

Financial Information

theologyXavier University is a private institution and charges tuition accordingly. In-service personnel in educational institutions receive a 25% tuition waiver during the academic year that is subject to change without notice. Graduate Programs does not administer any financial assistance -- all inquiries about financial aid should be directed to the Office of Financial Aid.
