Freshman Seminar

Dig Deep and Plant Your Roots in Freshman Seminar

What is Freshman Seminar?

Freshman Seminar is a first-year, required, 2-credit course that serves as the foundation of the Xavier academic experience. The course connects students to the Xavier and New Orleans communities and prepares them for success in college.  Freshmen at Xavier participate in service learning projects that challenge them to engage with the Mission of the University and to see social justice as an integral part of a liberal arts education.  In Freshman Seminar, students dig deep into Xavier's history and plant roots in Xavier's community.
