Residence Hall

We are on the fast track to get a new residence hall constructed before the fall 2003 school year. We had some early delays because of the weather and because we had to work with Entergy to move utility lines, but we are still on track. When completed, we will have addressed the need for additional housing, and we will abandon the use of the Fontainebleau Apartments. The new residence hall will be constructed on the east end of the campus, near Xavier South. S. Jefferson Davis Parkway, S. Clark Street, Drexel Drive and WVUE Channel 8 will be the boundaries of this seven-story, 100,000 (plus) square-feet. building. The rooms would be very similar to one of the most popular rooms in the Living Learning Center. There would be two students per room, with bathroom accommodations, individual desks, additional personal storage space, cable connectivity, Internet capability and many other modern-day amenities. This new facility will accommodate over 500 new beds and would cost approximately $12,500,000.
