Lighting Retrofit / Electrical Upgrade
This energy efficiency project consists of six (6) key components: Lighting Retrofit, Water Conservation, Electrical Upgrade, Demand Flow, Controls Modification and Mechanical Upgrades. This venture includes saving 2.2 million KWH by replacing over 12,000 lamps and installing over 100 occupancy sensors, improving technology in classrooms, maximizing efficiencies in buildings, monitoring carbon dioxide levels, and saving five million gallons of water per year while improving the water quality on campus, to name a few. The physical work was completed in May of 2011, at which time we began the measurement and verification portion of the campus’s energy usage. This will help enhance routine maintenance and facilitate necessary changes more rapidly, especially in addressing emergencies. Additionally, we are afforded more cost saving opportunities.
