St. Katharine Drexel Chapel
This project is being constructed adjacent to the Qatar Pharmacy Pavilion, in the space that was once the Xavier University Student Center.
Designed by Caesar Pelli of Pelli Clark Architects, the St. Katharine Drexel Chapel has a wonderful, uniquely-shaped octagon floor plan. This spiritual center will be approximately 11,000 square feet and will include a sanctuary, sacristy, meditation room, day chapel, bell tower, meditation garden, and the capacity to accommodate upward of 400 occupants. Upon completion, this building will be the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified, non-residential building constructed on the Xavier University campus. This facility is projected to be completed during the first quarter of 2012.
