The
Xavier Review has published quality poetry, fiction, translation and literary criticism since 1980, with a focus on work that explores ethics and ethnicity, race and religion.
Geographically, we are global, but we do keep one eye turned toward the Southern United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The twentieth-anniversary issue (20.1) was dedicated to the variety of work being done by writers at Xavier University.
Published twice a year by Xavier University of Louisiana.

We accept submissions year-round for poetry (3-10 poems at a time), prose fiction and personal essays (no more than 20 pages), and literary and cultural essays (no more than 20 pages, using MLA citation). We also accept book reviews on topics relevant to our stated focus; although most reviews are assigned, please query with titles.
