SPRING 2016:

  Kristine Mbadugha in February 2015 was Georgia Lawyers for the Arts Staff Member of the Week. She is a graduate of American University Washington College of Law. There she served as articles editor for The Labor and Employment Forum, staff editor for the Sustainable Development Law and Policy Brief, and blogger for the Intellectual Property Brief. Throughout law school, Kristine volunteered with Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. There, she aided creative counsel in bi-monthly free drop-in clinics for Baltimore artists, designers, and writers. Prior to law school, Kristine attended Xavier University of Louisiana where she majored in English Literature with a double concentration in Biology and Chemistry. Outside of GLA, Kristine enjoys cycling, kickboxing, concerts and festivals, and traveling.

 

  Kayla Rodney, who graduated from Xavier (2013), is finishing her M.F.A. in Creative Writing Poetry this semester from San Diego State University, has been accepted to a Ph.D. program in English  at University of Florida, Gainesville.

 

  Jonathan Moody graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2002. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. He’s also a Cave Canem graduate fellow. Moody, a Pushcart Prize nominee, is the author of The Doomy Poems (Six Gallery Press, 2012).  His second collection, Olympic Butter Gold, won the 2014 Cave Canem Northwestern University Press Poetry Prize which was published in fall of 2015. His poetry has also appeared in various publications such as African American Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Boston Review, The Common, Harvard Review Online, and Xavier Review
