Applications for each program will be accepted until the posted deadline. Students applying to SOAR1 must also submit TWO recommendation forms.

Objective: The Summer Science Academy offers four programs for high school students who have an expressed interest in science/health-related careers.  Each “STAR” program introduces a content area to students BEFORE the student takes the course in high school.  The programs are: MathStar-Algebra I (content); BioStar-Biology; and ChemStar-Chemistry.  The SOAR1 program (for current juniors) prepares students in analytical reasoning and provides early exposure to science careers.  A limited number of on campus housing is available for SOAR1 participants living outside of the New Orleans Metropolitan Area.  Campus housing is not available for the “STAR” programs.
