Kristy A. Brumfield is a Counselor Educator in the Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs in the Division of Education and Counseling. She has provided counseling services to children and adolescents in New Orleans for more than ten years and her professional interests include play therapy, multicultural counseling, work with preschool children, filial therapy, and group therapy with adolescents. Dr. Brumfield has demonstrated a passion for utilizing creative counseling techniques and is committed to professional development and advancement of the counseling profession. Her list of accomplishments includes numerous articles and presentations on therapy with children, awards for academic excellence, membership in several professional organizations and serving on the boards of the Louisiana Association for Play Therapy and Communities in Schools of Greater New Orleans.
